Our History
Eastern Suburbs Antique Restorations Pty Ltd was established in 1987 by Mark Robson. Mark started the business because of his passion for fine furniture and his extensive knowledge in all aspects of antique furniture restoration. Mark studied, History of Art at Brooks University, Oxford, England and soon after completing his studies he was trained in the specialist field of medieval stained glass restoration, before moving to Australia in the early 80’s. Once in Australia Mark’s love of antique furniture lead him into the furniture restoration business of which he has now amassed over 30 years of experience in the trade
The first Eastern Suburbs Antique Restorations workshop was located on the corner of Clovelly Road and Fern St, Clovelly in 1987 and specialised in traditional French Polishing and cabinet repairs. The following year the company leased a second shop close by selling well restored antique furniture and collectables. In 1993 the business expanded into the much larger adjoining premises on Clovelly Road. Now able to sell and restore under the one roof – the company flourished for a further 10 years.
By 2003 it was necessary to seek industrial premises and the factory with much improved facilities was purchased at 1603 Botany Road, Botany. Sadly the antique shop at Clovelly closed its doors after 17 years of Trading.
Eastern Suburbs Antique Restorations, also known as Eastern Suburbs Furniture Restorations carries on in the Botany workshop, concentrating on all aspects of furniture restoration – including all furniture upholstery and modern furniture.

Our Awards
Eastern Suburbs Antique Restorations was awarded the Randwick City Council Winner of Business Excellence Award.
Our fourth year apprentice cabinet maker, Nathan Cardwell won junior cabinet maker of the year for NSW for 2011. He went on to become NSW apprentice of the year for 2012.
